Job summary

Meijer in Fort Wayne is seeking a Food Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service in our Fresh departments. You will help customers find products, share knowledge, and keep displays fresh and inviting while supporting multiple departments.

This role requires physical activity, weekend availability, and comfort using store technology. We offer weekly pay, benefits, and opportunities for career growth within a family-friendly company.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service mindset and friendly attitude.

• Comfort with lifting up to 50 lbs and standing long hours.
• Availability to work weekends, including 2–11 pm shifts.
• Previous retail or food service experience is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Food Clerk, you play a key role in creating a fresh, welcoming, and well-run store experience within our Fresh departments.

You'll:

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates

• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need

• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays

• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards

• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures

• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery

• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
