Provides support as a member of the Grocery team, including receiving and preparing product, maintaining the grocery floor and displays, and selling product in support of Whole Foods Market standards. Performs functions related to breaking down deliveries and stocking shelves. Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members. All roles must adhere to store Standard Operating Procedures, health and safety regulations, and support WFM core values and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure displays are fresh and appealing by keeping cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated.
• Stock and clean grocery shelves, bulk bins, frozen, and dairy cases.
• Monitor and prevent spoilage, communicating waste issues to relevant staff.
• Maintain back stock in good order.
• Assist with sampling programs, keeping sample areas clean and attractive.
• Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Participate in periodic inventory checks.
• Arrive on time, groomed, dressed appropriately, and ready to work; attend all scheduled shifts, trainings, and meetings.
• Deliver excellent customer service, addressing customer needs promptly and effectively, and using suggestive selling techniques.
• Follow proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products to maximize sales.
• Comply with procedures related to Weights and Measures, health, sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, ensuring equipment is clean and safe.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring signage and pricing are accurate.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift.
• Use hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
• Work in temperatures below 32°F (freezing), 32-40°F (refrigeration), and above 90°F.
• Work in wet and cold environments.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Operate tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery.
