Job summary

The Save Mart Companies in Fremont, CA is seeking a Multi-Purpose Clerk for the Deli. This role supports multiple departments to ensure guest satisfaction, accurate stocking, and safe food handling.

You will assist guests, process purchases at POS, and help maintain department cleanliness and freshness. Requirements include being at least 18, high school diploma or G.E.D., and six months of grocery retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate the register according to company policy and procedures and keep up to date with new restaurant offerings; take guest orders and service completed orders for guests at the register; maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the restaurant and department.
• Handle Center Store/Front End operations including stocking, shelf maintenance, and POS transactions.
• Assist in Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, and Janitorial tasks to ensure freshness and department appeal.
• Promote sales within assigned department and respond to guest requests for products; place special orders as needed.
