Job Summary

Under the direction of the Grocery Manager, oversee the daily operations of the Grocery Department, ensuring sound operation, growth, profitability, and a high level of customer service in line with the cooperative's goals and policies. Responsible for meeting customer service quality standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the grocery department, including scheduling, staffing, and customer service.
• Promote sales, consult with customers, and assist in department operations.
• Prioritize effectively and balance competing demands.
• Manage department inventory, pricing, and special promotions following guidelines established by the merchandiser to assess new products, maintain margins, and coordinate with staff.
• Stock and rotate products, order inventory regularly, and work with employees, sales reps, and vendors.
• Train, coach, supervise, and motivate department staff.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; ability to lift 60 to 75 lbs regularly and comfortably.

Attendance Requirements

Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
