Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Northbrook, IL is hiring a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean store environment.

Responsibilities include bagging groceries, assisting customers, stocking shelves, and assisting with price checks and safety procedures. Prior retail experience is preferred but not required, with opportunities for growth within the Kroger family.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Strive for at least five items per bag while ensuring contents are not damaged.
• Follow best practices for bagging items in reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
• Assist in removing customer merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts.
• Clean spills and collect trash inside store and in the parking lot.
• Inspect and maintain store safety by following procedures and reporting hazards.
