Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service and assist customers in the department.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment to encourage customer return.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
• Follow established quality assurance standards.
• Answer questions about products sold in the department and storewide.
• Knowledge of products to respond to inquiries and make suggestions.
• Promote and explain grocery specials to customers.
• Check product quality and monitor freshness and dates.
• Stock, label and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to management.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and proper temperature logs.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Operate equipment safely and report maintenance needs.
• Notify management of accidents or security issues.
