Job summary

The Fresh Market is hiring a Grocery Manager in Raleigh. You will lead department staff, manage inventory, ensure pricing integrity, and drive efficient operations. This fast-paced role requires attention to detail and a passion for excellence to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

You will greet guests, make recommendations, manage ordering timelines, stock goods, and guide teams to uphold The Fresh Market standards. Flexibility for weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of management experience in grocery retail or related fields.
• Ability to read and follow department planograms and layouts.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide accurate, timely service.
• Make recommendations and accommodate requests.
• Manage order guides, deadlines, shrink, and damaged items.
• Receive, stock, and rotate goods to standard levels.
• Direct teams in merchandising to The Fresh Market standards.
• Engage, coach, and train team members on the job and via internal platforms.
• Occasionally oversee total store operations or act as Manager on Duty.

About The Position

As the Grocery Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency and effectiveness and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams to handle, rest, and merchandising of goods that follow TFM standards
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner
• At times you will be responsible for total store operations or Manager on Duty (MOD)

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant and/or culinary experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
