Job summary

The Fresh Market in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Grocery Manager to lead team members, manage department inventory, pricing integrity, and other store operations with a focus on excellence and guest service.

This fast-paced role requires directing staff, coordinating merchandising, and maintaining standards across the store. You will coach teammates, drive results, and may serve as Manager on Duty as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience in grocery/retail or restaurant/culinary environments.
• Ability to read planograms, layouts, and schematics for merchandising.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist with accurate and timely service.
• Make recommendations and accommodate requests.
• Manage order guides, ordering deadlines, and shrink/damage reduction.
• Receive/stock goods following rotation standards when replenishing levels.
• Direct teams on handling, restocking, and merchandising to The Fresh Market standards.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on the job and via internal training platform.
• Occasionally oversee total store operations or act as Manager on Duty.

About The Position

As the Grocery Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency and effectiveness and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams to handle, rest, and merchandising of goods that follow TFM standards
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner
• At times you will be responsible for total store operations or Manager on Duty (MOD)

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant and/or culinary experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
