Job Summary:

The Night General Clerk is responsible for stocking, facing, and rotating merchandise during overnight hours to maintain an attractive store appearance and price integrity for customers.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in receiving, sorting, and organizing stock inventory.
• Stock shelves and products neatly and efficiently.
• Help unload trucks as directed.
• Monitor shelf prices and product quality, restock as needed.
• Follow procedures for case cutting to prevent damage and loss.
• Manage stock in storage and workload areas.
• Replenish products across departments.
• Handle damaged or spoiled products per policy.
• Check expiration dates to ensure product freshness.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and friendly department environment.
• Report equipment malfunctions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understanding of inventory systems and grocery product categories.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
• Accurate inventory checking and recording skills.
• Proficiency with inventory software and scanners.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to organize storage areas and resolve inventory issues.
• Adaptability, decision-making, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand, walk, lift (up to 25 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally).
• Perform repetitive motions and climb ladders.
• Operate equipment and communicate effectively.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Work Conditions:

• Varying hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Indoor, climate-controlled environment.
• Work within store sections including sales floor and backrooms.
• Dress in professional, store-approved attire.
• Exposure to moving parts and chemicals.
• Moderate noise levels.
• Frequent customer and team interaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Over one year of Grocery Clerk experience preferred.
• Complete OSHA forklift training.
