Job Summary:

The Night General Clerk is responsible for stocking, facing, and rotating merchandise overnight in the Grocery department, maintaining an attractive store image and price integrity for customers.

Essential Functions:

1. Assist in receiving, sorting, and organizing stock inventory for store shelves.
2. Stock shelves and products neatly and efficiently according to company standards.
3. Assist in unloading trucks as directed by management.
4. Monitor shelf prices and product integrity, restocking as needed.
5. Follow procedures for case cutting to minimize damage and loss.
6. Transport stock to storage and workload areas.
7. Replenish products across departments as instructed.
8. Manage storage and display of products, including refrigeration.
9. Handle damaged and spoiled products per company policy.
10. Check expiration dates to ensure freshness.
11. Maintain a clean, attractive, and friendly department environment.
12. Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understanding of inventory systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of grocery products and categories.
• Familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations.
• Accuracy in inventory checking and recording.
• Proficiency with inventory management tools and technology.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to organize storage and manage inventory.
• Problem-solving skills for discrepancies and storage issues.
• Adaptability and decision-making in high-pressure environments.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift 25 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally.
• Perform reaching, bending, stooping, and squatting.
• Climb ladders as needed.
• Operate equipment and handle small objects.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Varying hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Indoor, climate-controlled environment.

• Constant interaction with customers and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Over one year of Grocery Clerk experience preferred.
• Complete OSHA forklift training.
