Job summary

Kroger in Virginia is seeking a team-oriented associate to deliver outstanding customer service, maintain a safe and clean environment, and support department goals. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit targets while upholding QA standards and the Customer 1st strategy.

Key duties include answering product questions, promoting products, providing samples, ensuring freshness, labeling and stocking merchandise, and reporting safety or operational issues.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Retail experience (desired).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Answer customer questions about products within the department and store to create a welcoming environment.
• Gain knowledge of department products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials and provide fresh products ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Adhere to safety programs and identify unsafe conditions, notifying management.
