Job summary

ShopRite of West Long Branch in New Jersey is seeking a Grocery Manager to direct and supervise all functions of the Grocery Department and its associates, driving sales, profitability, and excellent Customer Experience under the guidance of the General Store Manager.

The role requires English literacy, basic math, the ability to stand for shifts, lift up to 60 lbs, and lead a team; you will ensure safe, friendly, well-presented operations and maintain product, pricing, and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must read/write/speak English.
• Able to perform basic math.
• Able to stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Able to perform basic computer functions.
• Able to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products.
• Able to work in varying temperatures.
• Able to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Able to climb a ladder to retrieve items.
• Able to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Able to work cooperatively with others.
• Able to work all assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies.
• Able to engage and lead Associates to achieve department goals.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all functions and activities of the Grocery Department and its Associates to achieve department goals.
• Enforce ShopRite service priorities: Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency.
• Maintain safety policies and ensure proper use of equipment by Associates.
• Lead Associates to provide a positive Customer Experience.
• Ensure product is stocked, priced, and displayed according to policy.
• Monitor department operations to achieve financial and customer-service targets.
