Vallarta Supermarkets in Delano, CA is hiring a Grocery Day Stocker to transport, stock, and display grocery merchandise and to prepare customer orders for curbside pickup.

You will ensure freshness, rotate stock, and uphold Vallarta's safety and sanitation standards while delivering excellent customer service in a lively community store.

Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge for stocking and POS-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Smile and greet customers; deliver friendly service.
• Stock, rotate, and display grocery items and prepare curbside orders.
• Select, scan, and pack customer orders with accuracy.
• Assist with substitutions, freshness checks, and quality standards.
• Bag groceries and assist customers to their vehicles when needed.
• Maintain shelves and store displays; notify managers of stock levels.

About the Role

The Grocery Day Stocker is responsible for transporting, stocking, and displaying grocery merchandise, as well as accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for curbside pickup.This roleensuresproducts are fresh, rotated, and well-presented whilemaintainingVallarta's standards for safety, sanitation, and customer service.

WhatYou'llDo

• Smile and greet customers and team members; deliver extraordinary service using Vallarta's six steps.
• Model Vallarta's Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
• Select, scan, and pack customer orders from all temperature zones with accuracy and care.
• Contact customersregardingsubstitutions and ensure orders meetfreshnessand quality standards.
• Bag groceries according to Vallarta procedures and deliver to customer vehicles.
• Transport, stock, and rotate grocery products; pull out-of-code or distressed merchandise.
• Maintain merchandise on shelves, in designated storage areas, and store displays.
• Notify supervisors of inventory levels to minimize out-of-stocks/overstocks.
• Handle merchandise carefully to minimize damage and shrink.
• Safely unload merchandise and transport using dollies, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Report discrepancies, damaged items, or quality issues to management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Comply withfood safety, health code, and sanitation practices.
• Follow company policies and safetystandards;report unsafe acts or conditionsimmediately.
• Support inventory, price marking, and department housekeeping.
• Foster teamwork, support training, andassistcoworkers as needed.
• Performadditionalduties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk constantly (6-8+ hours/day).
• Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Heaviest itemrequiredto carry: 61 lbs., up to 12 feet.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other moving equipment safely.
• Work near equipment/machinery; exposure to dust, gas, fumes, temperature, and humidity changes.
• Work on uneven groundoccasionally.
• May berequiredto perform tasks at elevated levels (placing or retrieving items).

• Exposure toperishable products, cold storage, dust, and changing conditions.

• Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
