Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger in Rio Rancho, NM to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean store environment. The role involves bagging groceries at checkout, assisting customers, and keeping shelves tidy while following safety and food safety guidelines.

You will help customers load bags into cars, inform them about specials, and ensure merchandise is rotated and returned to shelves.

Qualifications

• Retail experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Aim to bag at least five items without damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in various bag types.
• Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills and pick up trash inside store and in parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions to management.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage conflict professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
