Job summary

Kroger in Vincennes, IN is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to deliver outstanding customer service and keep aisles and bags organized. You will bag groceries at checkout, assist customers, and help maintain clean, safe store conditions while following safety and food-handling guidelines.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout.
• Aim to bag at least five items while preventing damage.
• Follow bagging best practices for reusable/plastic/paper bags.
• Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect and trash inside store and parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Know store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Adhere to safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report needs for repair.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced environments and manage conflict calmly.
• Be honest with customers and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
