Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to create an outstanding customer experience at Westlake Corner, VA location. You will bag groceries, assist customers, and maintain clean, safe store areas to encourage return visits.

Responsibilities include helping customers load bags, stocking shelves, and following food safety regulations. Bring a friendly, courteous approach and adhere to company guidelines and safety procedures.

• Minimum Position Qualifications: Desired Previous Job Experience Retail Experience is preferred but not necessary

Responsibilities

• Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bag groceries at checkout for customers
• Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout
• Offer to help customers with loading bags into their car
• Perform basic shelf conditioning
• Inform customers of grocery specials
• Return merchandise to store shelves
• Gathers bascarts and return them to designated areas
• Clean spills and trash inside store and parking lot
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
• Understand store layout and locate products
• Reinforce safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department
• Provide customer assistance and answer questions about products
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environments
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
