Luke's Local Grocery in San Francisco is seeking a Grocery Clerk to stock incoming and backstock, keep shelves tidy, and assist customers with a friendly, helpful attitude.

You'll maintain back rooms and walk-ins, participate in merchandising, and support cashiering as needed. The role offers growth, weekend availability, and a focus on safe food handling, equity, and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Stocking and merchandising on floor and backrooms.
• Maintain clean, safe aisles and walkways.
• Provide excellent customer service and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Stock incoming and backstock product on shelves, keeping aisles organized and clear.
• Regularly prepare empty pallets for return to the Commissary kitchen.
• Maintain clean, orderly space on the floor, in the aisles, walk-in, and back-of-house areas.
• Maintain sales, promo, and store signage accuracy; report discrepancies to leadership.
• Keep storefront clean and ready for customers; comply with readiness standards.
• Assist customers in locating products, including dairy and prepared foods.
• Monitor for expiration; ensure FIFO and track waste.
• Follow inventory and ordering procedures to ensure data accuracy.
• Adhere to safe food handling procedures and hygiene standards.
• Support cashiering as needed; maintain attendance and reliability.
• Collaborate with staff and leadership; communicate effectively.
