Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market is seeking a Grocery Clerk in Minnesota to keep shelves stocked and clean while assisting customers with a friendly, energetic demeanor. You will follow department guidelines and ensure accurate pricing and product presentation.

The role requires basic math, attention to detail, and the ability to work varied hours. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced, health-focused grocery environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in Grocery department processes and procedures.
• Experience in a natural foods industry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cleanliness of grocery shelves, storage area, and work area for safety; includes cleaning of shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills and debris.
• Stocks grocery shelves; presentation, facing, filling, and organization per department schematics; ensure tag and pricing accuracy.
• Examines rotation of all grocery products; monitor expired stock and discard outdated items.
• Responds to customer inquiries and assists with purchases and product selection; involves selling and cross-selling.
• Receives, inspects, and logs products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
• Monitors POS signs; ensures availability of recipe cards and promotional materials.
• Operates equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Weighs and labels products using scales and weight measures.
• Cuts and stacks cases for displays and prices merchandise.
• Participates in pre-inventory preparation and back stock management.
• Maintains high product knowledge and product preparation.
• Maintains organized, sanitary department appearance; walks department regularly.
• Other duties as assigned.
