Job summary

The Kroger store in Tillamook, OR is seeking a dedicated Store Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean shopping environment.

You will greet customers, answer product questions, assist with bagging and checkout, keep shelves organized, and support loss prevention and safety programs while collaborating with front-end teams. Experience with cash handling and price checks is a plus. This on-site role offers growth opportunities and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Must be 16 or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Assist with customer requests; retrieving, lifting and locating product.
• Greet customers, assist with loading and bagging, and thank customers.
• Help remove merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Follow bagging best practices for different bag types.
• Offer assistance with loading bags into customers' cars.
• Follow shrink reduction initiatives and report issues.
• Retrieve carts and manage basket flow without overloading.
• Understand store layout to locate products and perform price checks.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Display a positive, friendly attitude.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Log safety sweeps and inspect the sales floor regularly.
• Notify management of accidents.
• Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, restrooms, sales floor and carts.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Collaborate with Front-end associates to encourage teamwork.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Follow merchandising, cash control, labor and safety rules.
