Job summary

El Super is seeking a Grocery Clerk for the #12 Arleta store in California. Under supervision of the Grocery Manager, the role includes assisting customers, keeping shelves stocked, cleaning displays, and rotating stock. Candidates should be able to work nights and weekends and handle lifting requirements.

The position offers a starting rate of $18.45 per hour and is part of El Super’s broader Chedraui USA family, emphasizing excellent service and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, price codes, shelf tags, short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and colleagues.
• Follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift/move up to 25 lb, frequently 45 lb, occasionally 60 lb.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill and rotate the self-serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
