Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston, TX is seeking a Grocery Clerk for Store 011 Houston-Airline/I-45. Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, you will assist customers, stock displays, and maintain clean shelves. You will also clean, fill and rotate the self-serve displays.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and willingness to work nights and weekends. Bilingual Spanish/English communication is helpful in serving our diverse community.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes and shelf tags.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Regularly lift/move up to 25–60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous service to customers.
• Assist customers and maintain clean display cases and shelves.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill and rotate the self‑serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
