Job summary

Fiesta Mart, part of the Chedraui USA group, seeks a Grocery Clerk at Store 008 Houston-Wirt Road to deliver friendly customer service and maintain displays in a fast‑paced store environment.

You will interact with customers in Spanish and English, assist with product presentation, and support routine store operations, including lifting boxes and stocking shelves. Training provided; weekend shifts required.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English; interact with general public and co-workers.
• Able to lift and move up to 60 pounds occasionally.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends and provide friendly service.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with friendly, courteous service and maintain displays.
• Clean and rotate self-serve displays; tidy shelves and cases.
• Support store operations under supervision and handle physical tasks as needed.

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill, and rotate the self‑serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending, and stooping for long periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
