Responsibilities include:
- Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they find what they want and need.
- Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
- Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and logs in cases and coolers.
- Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and assist customers with questions and suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued by engaging with them regarding products.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Notify management of any customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
