Responsibilities include:

1. Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they find what they want and need.
2. Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
3. Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
4. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
5. Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
6. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
7. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and logs in cases and coolers.
8. Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and assist customers with questions and suggestions.
9. Create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued by engaging with them regarding products.
10. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
11. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
12. Notify management of any customer or employee accidents.
13. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
14. Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
15. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
16. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
17. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
