Responsibilities include:
- Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, ensure freshness, and review "sell by" dates.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperature logs.
- Maintain product knowledge to assist and recommend to customers.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and making suggestions.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
- Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
- Notify management of accidents or safety concerns.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and ethically.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
