Grocery Clerk Responsibilities:

• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
• Check product quality and freshness, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with ordered products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Gain product knowledge to assist and suggest to customers.
• Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and ethically.
• Follow directions and seek help as needed.
