Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
- Checking product quality to ensure freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable products.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
- Staying current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
- Gaining knowledge of products to respond to questions and make suggestions.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making recommendations.
- Reinforcing safety programs and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Performing preventive maintenance and notifying management of repairs needed.
- Managing conflict in a calm and cooperative manner.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
- Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
