Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
2. Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get the products they want and need.
3. Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
4. Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered.
5. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
6. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
7. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintain proper temperatures, and keep temperature logs.
8. Gain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions, making suggestions about products.
9. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making them feel valued.
10. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
11. Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
12. Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
13. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
14. Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
15. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
16. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
17. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
18. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
