Grocery Clerk (Finance)

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Customer Service skills

  • Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, subtraction)

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Assist customers with product inquiries and discover new items.
  2. Inform customers of specials and recommend products to meet their needs.
  3. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
  4. Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  5. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  6. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
  7. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  8. Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  9. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
  10. Develop knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
  11. Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued.
  12. Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
  13. Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
  14. Report customer or employee accidents.
  15. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  16. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  17. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  18. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  19. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  20. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary Range: $19.21 - $22.61
