Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
- Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting product discrepancies to the department manager.
- Staying current with ads, seasonal, and special promotions.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
- Gaining knowledge of products and responding to customer inquiries with suggestions.
- Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Reinforcing safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting them.
- Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of repair needs.
- Reporting accidents involving customers or employees.
- Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking help to resolve issues.
