Responsibilities include:

• Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
• Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
• Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
• Reporting product discrepancies to the department manager.
• Staying current with ads, seasonal, and special promotions.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
• Gaining knowledge of products and responding to customer inquiries with suggestions.
• Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
• Reinforcing safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting them.
• Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of repair needs.
• Reporting accidents involving customers or employees.
• Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
