Essential Job Functions:

1. Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
2. Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
3. Check product quality to ensure freshness; review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
4. Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered.
5. Recommend grocery items to customers.
6. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
7. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
8. Stay current with ads and promotions.
9. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
10. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs as required.
11. Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.
12. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
13. Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
14. Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
15. Notify management of accidents.
16. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
17. Manage conflict in a reasonable manner.
18. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
19. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
20. Support and assist diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
21. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
