Key responsibilities include:
- Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, ensure freshness, and review "sell by" dates.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager.
- Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Follow all food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
- Maintain knowledge of products to answer questions and make suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Reinforce safety protocols, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Notify management of any accidents involving customers or employees.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
