Grocery Clerk Responsibilities:

• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
• Check product quality, ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with ordered grocery products.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager.
• Stay current with ads, seasonal, and special promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, including maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
• Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions, making suggestions as needed.
• Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
• Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of equipment issues.
• Report customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and ethically.
• Follow directions, seek help when needed, and support vulnerable populations.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
