Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
- Checking product quality to ensure freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Providing customers with ordered products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
- Reporting product discrepancies to the department manager.
- Staying current with ads and promotions.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures with logs.
- Gaining product knowledge to assist and suggest to customers.
- Creating a welcoming environment, answering questions, and making customers feel valued.
- Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of repairs.
- Reporting accidents involving customers or employees.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
- Handling customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
- Following directions and seeking help when needed.
