Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a customer-focused team member at our Portsmouth, VA location. The role centers on providing quality service in the Center Store (Grocery) department and upholding standard practices to maximize sales while reducing shrink.

You will assist customers, stock shelves, manage inventory tools, and follow safety guidelines while maintaining a neat appearance in uniform. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly and accurate service.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Keep shelves clean and ensure proper stocking and tagging.
• Maintain shelf allocations by stocking from tag to tag and display only saleable merchandise.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying follow policies.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Adhere to Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Report accidents and comply with regulations and dress code.
• Complete CBT and training programs and perform other duties as assigned.
