Qualifications

• Must have basic math and cash handling abilities.
• Ability to operate cash register and process payments.
• Must read and understand operating instructions for equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts and reconcile with sales.
• Greet customers entering store and maintain checkout area.
• Establish or identify prices and tabulate bills using cash registers or scanners.
• Resolve customer complaints and provide information on procedures or policies.
• Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
• Stock shelves and display items; monitor checkout stations for adequate cash.
