Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to provide outstanding customer service, bag groceries, and help maintain a clean, safe store environment. You will assist customers, handle merchandise, and support store operations while upholding Kroger’s values of respect, integrity and safety.

The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting, follow directions, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• Retail experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Bag at least five items and prevent damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in various bag types.
• Assist customers with loading bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills and collect trash inside store and parking lot.
• Understand the store layout and locate products; conduct price checks.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations.
• Inspect equipment and report items in need of repair.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflict professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
