Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment. You will bag groceries, assist customers, and help maintain product placement and store cleanliness throughout the day.

The role emphasizes friendly customer interactions, adherence to safety and food-handling guidelines, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting. Prior retail experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills essential for assisting customers.
• Strong communication skills for clear interactions with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at check out for customers.
• Strive to bag at least five items without damage.
• Follow bagging best practices for different bag types.
• Assist in removing items from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return to designated areas.
• Clean spills and pick up trash inside store and in parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside store.
• Handle and display seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout and locate products for price checks.
• Follow safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
