Job summary

The Bear Creek School in Redmond, WA is seeking a Grizzly Hoops Head Coach to lead our feeder basketball program for the upcoming season. This part-time role focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character, with a developmentally appropriate basketball experience for student-athletes.

You will report to the Assistant Athletic Director and collaborate with the Varsity coach to plan practices for JV or C-level programs, while ensuring safety and positive team culture.

Qualifications

• Some coaching experience preferred, but not required.
• High School Diploma Required.
• Compliance with Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association and Bear Creek requirements prior to season.
• Hold CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or certification within 90 days).
• Currently authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with instruction and training in fundamentals of basketball.
• Assist with team supervision during practice, contests, and travel.
• Assist the Head Coach with maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Coordinate and collaborate with the Varsity coach to plan and lead practice sessions for JV or C-level programs.
• Promote sportsmanship and fair play among team members.
• Communicate with players, parents, and Bear Creek staff regarding team expectations and schedules.
• Provide first aid as required.

The Role
The Bear Creek School is currently seeking a Grizzly Hoops Head Coach to join our athletics team! The coach will help provide a positive and developmentally appropriate basketball experience for our student-athletes, with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with the maintenance of facilities and equipment
• Coordinate and collaborate with the Varsity coach to plan, create, and lead practice sessions for the JV or C-level programs (when applicable)
• Promote sportsmanship and fair play among team members
• Communicate with players, parents, and Bear Creek staff regarding team expectations, schedules, and program information
• Provide first aid as required

Requirements

• Some coaching experience preferred, but not required
• High School Diploma Required
• Compliance with Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association and Bear Creek requirements prior to beginning of sports season
• Hold CPR/AED/First Aid certification (with epinephrine autoinjector supplement) or certification within 90 days of employment start date
• Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer (sponsorship is not available for this position)
