Job summary

Precision Resource, Inc. in Shelton, CT is seeking a Grinding Operator for the 1st shift, Mon-Fri (no weekends). You will operate grinding machines to finish external surfaces per job instructions and customer specifications.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, tolerances, and tooling instructions; inspecting first/last pieces; maintaining production levels; data entry into the ERP system; and ensuring safety and quality standards in a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years factory grinding experience preferred.
• Read measuring devices (micrometers, bore gauges).
• English literacy including reading and writing.
• Perform basic arithmetic and use metric/English measurements.
• Know OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Understand basic SPC concepts.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Able to use hand tools.
• Recognize Globally Harmonized Hazard Identification symbols.
• Basic data entry and ERP system skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding machines following job instructions.
• Read job order specifications for dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
• Assist with first/last piece inspections.
• Maintain production levels as instructed.
• Operate machines and measuring instruments and keep them in good working order.
• Perform quality checks per instructions.
• Input quality and production data into the ERP system.
• Communicate problems to Manager for corrective action.
• Keep work area clean and tidy at all times.
• Work in an organized manner with attention to detail.
