Job summary

United Industries, Inc. is seeking a Grinding Machinist to manufacture parts per plant specifications using CNC and manual grinding machines. You will set up, program, and operate equipment, inspect parts for conformance, and maintain a clean work area.

Ideal candidates have strong measurement skills, blueprint comprehension, and the ability to read tolerances. Overtime may be required to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient with hand measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparator).
• Must read and understand blueprints, specifications and routings.
• Ability to set-up, operate, and make offsets.
• Requires mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Must perform metric conversions.
• Requires good oral and written communication skills to interact with employees.
• Basic computer skills.
• Machinist experience a plus.
• Honing & Bore Grinding experience a plus.

The Grinding Machinist is responsible for the manufacture of parts per plant specifications in an accurate and timely manner utilizing manual and CNC grinding machines.
