Job summary

Elite Staffing Inc is seeking a Grinding Machine Operator in Des Plaines, IL. The ideal candidate will perform deburring operations on sheet metal, maintain and clean equipment, and follow safety protocols. Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Grinding Machine Operator

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic understanding of sheet metal processes desired.
• Familiarity with debur equipment and tools is preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Adherence to safety procedures and guidelines.

Job Duties:

• Perform deburring operations on sheet metal components using handheld or bench grinders
• Inspect workpieces for imperfections, such as burrs, sharp edges, or surface defects
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• Use measuring tools, such as calipers or gauges, to verify dimensions and specifications
• Maintain and clean grinding equipment and work area
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
• Other duties as assigned

Physical requirements: 20/20 vision with or without correction, use of hands 100% of the time, stand, bend, stoop, twist, turn. Must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 lbs.

Safety equipment required: Hearing Protection, Disposable Respirator-N95 Mask, Apron, Safety Glasses, Steel Toed Shoes, Gloves, Safety Belt.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday plus Saturdays when needed. Some overtime required. Shift: 2:30pm-10:30pm.

Compensation: $17.00-25.00/hr DOE.
