Position Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grinder Polisher I to join our team at Vollrath in Newport. MN. The Grinder Polisher will be responsible for finishing and polishing stainless steel and other material surfaces to ensure they meet our high-quality standards. This role requires precision, an understanding of various grinding and polishing techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Finishing

• Operate grinding and polishing tools, including belt sanders, disc grinders, and finishing tools
• Grinding and polishing stainless steel welds back to a #4 stainless steel finish
• Inspect parts for defects or irregularities, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications
  
  

Documentation

• Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task
  
  

Other

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Work closely with other team members and supervisors to meet production goals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Other duties as assigned
• Lifting weight requirements: 15-50lbs
  
  

Qualifications

• High School, GED, or equivalent diploma or education completed
• 1+ years of related experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• Experience in custom manufacturing site preferred
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to use polishing equipment such as hand tools and power tools
