Job summary

Vulcan Metals Corporation in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Production Operator - Grinder (Union, 1st Shift) to perform abrasive grinding on steel and stainless-steel castings. You will work with finishing leads, NDT, and inspectors to ensure surfaces meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include using pneumatic grinders and chipping hammers, loading and positioning castings with cranes, and supporting continuous improvement through training and projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing or construction required.
• Experience operating grinders and hand tools.
• Able to use handheld and power tools.
• U.S. person status under ITAR regulations required.

Responsibilities

• Use pneumatic grinders to remove excess metal from steel castings.
• Use pneumatic chipping hammers to remove sand and adhered materials.
• Transport and reposition castings using overhead cranes.
• Participate in department and company initiatives and training.
