Job description

We're currently seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Grinder Operator to join our Middleton, WI team. Work at a leading manufacturer of high-quality carpet padding and foam products, committed to delivering sustainable solutions and top-tier customer service. The operation of foam grinding equipment is used in the production of carpet padding materials. This role ensures the efficient and safe processing of scrap foam into granulated materials for reuse, supporting waste reduction and material consistency across production lines.

Pay: $18.50/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor industrial foam grinding machinery.
  • Feed foam materials into grinders and ensure continuous workflow.
  • Perform visual inspections of ground material to ensure quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot basic machines issues and report malfunctions to maintenance or supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grinding area.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assist with material handling and inventory management as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to maintain production efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience operating grinding or other heavy machinery is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.
