Job Description: Grinder Operator

We are currently seeking a Grinder Operator responsible for setting up and operating grinding machines to shape, sharpen, and polish metal parts. The role involves machine setup, adjustment of cutting tools, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of grinding principles such as angles, speed, pressure, and feed rate, and be capable of maintaining accurate production records and machine maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Operate electric and air grinding equipment to shape various surfaces.
• Operate drill press, hand drill, hand saw, and other tools to support operations.
• Check grinding equipment for safe operation.
• Set up, operate, and maintain grinding machines, selecting appropriate grinding wheels and tools.
• Use grinding equipment to finish surfaces on cabinet doors, walls, frames, and small parts.
• Assist with sheet metal fabrication work.
• Perform quality control checks on products.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-3 years of related experience.
• Physical ability to lift/move 25+ lbs, stand and walk for long periods, and wear a respirator.
