Description

Primary Job Function

Sets up and operates grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from internal and external surfaces; finishes edges or corners; grinds and blends welds, buffs, hones and polishes metal or plastic work pieces according to specifications. Performs a variety of operations to remove burrs or sharp edges and clean, machined flat surfaces. Uses belt sanders, abrasive charged wheels, fixtures, tumblers, vibratory equipment, foot or hand presses, files and scrapers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives travelers; reviews instructions for job on traveler and prints
  • Sets up grinding/finishing equipment with proper grit belts or pads
  • Sets up tumblers or vibratory equipment with proper media
  • Performs operations that will meet cosmetic requirements
  • Operates graining machine; performs drilling operations
  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to maintain good operation
  • Follows established safety protocols including required usage of PPE; helps to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Minimum skills, knowledge, education, certifications and related job experience that employee typically must have to perform essential functions of the job acceptably.

  • Good eye and hand skills / ability to see flatness
  • Ability to properly blend welds and radius
  • Ability to proficiently use a variety of hand grinding or machine finishing equipment
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dependability; honesty & integrity; a positive, proactive attitude; ability to use time productively, working with minimal supervision both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Pay and Benefits

Starting pay for this position is $17/hour – Higher Pay Available Based on Experience!

Our pay ranges are guided by the discipline, level, and experience required. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including desired skills/ technical competency, relevant experience, and advanced education/ training.

Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, LTD, EAP, Paid Time Off, 401(k) with Employer Contribution, Paid Holidays, as well as a Quarterly + Annual Bonus program.

Signing Bonus

To welcome you to our team and show our commitment to your success, we are offering a signing bonus of $500.00! This bonus will be awarded in two installments, 50% upon successful completion of probationary period and the balance paid upon completion of one year of service with IMC.
