Job summary

STS Metals is seeking a Production Associate‑ Grinder to support grinding operations on the Forge Team in Irwindale, CA. This entry‑level role involves staging material, removing scrap, and basic finishing work to help ensure safety, quality, and productivity on first and second shifts.

You will follow directions from the crew and may train to operate additional material-moving and grinding equipment. Expect physical, repetitive work in a dynamic manufacturing setting with plenty of opportunity

Qualifications

• Basic math, language, and reading skills.
• Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift on-site test.

Responsibilities

• Move material on press to forge following lead from crew blacksmith.
• Read serial numbers and re-mark parts with correct serialization in forging environment.
• Drive forklift to move and transport material.
• Read calipers and other measuring equipment to determine forged size of material.
• Train to move material manually with tongs.
• Train to operate grinding equipment and input forging stock material.
• Performs other related duties as requested.
