Job description

We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time Grill Cook positions at Inova Fairfax Hospital – 3300 Gallows Road, Falls Church, VA 22042. Online applications only.

Job Summary

Prepares food and serves customers at the grill station in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards to ensure high‑quality food service.

Location and Hours

• Full time: 1:30 pm – 9:30 pm (details upon interview)
• Part time: Saturday–Sunday, 5:00 am – 1:00 pm and flexible weekday shifts (details upon interview)

Requirements

• One year of previous grill cook experience required.

Perks and Pay

• $1,500 sign‑on bonus (half paid at 30 days, remainder at 90 days)
• Pay Range: $18.25 per hour to $18.50 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Takes orders from customers and prepares items requiring short preparation. Completes orders from steam tables and serves customers at multiple stations.
• Serves customers efficiently and friendly following established service steps and meeting standards. Ensures food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items.
• Uses established ticket‑collection procedures during service. Maintains records from the area worked during service periods.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with established safety standards.
• Stores foods in designated areas following standard wrapping, dating, and food‑safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains all assigned work areas, equipment, and utensils to meet sanitation standards.
• Resolves customer concerns and reports relevant information and concerns to supervisor.
• Attends in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
