Job summary

• Follow approved recipes and standards to maintain proper temperature, serving quality, and portion control.
• Transport food safely between stations while adhering to safety standards.
• Store foods with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Sanitize and maintain all assigned work areas and utensils to meet sanitation standards.
• Address customer concerns and report to supervisor.
• Attend in-service and safety meetings.
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and managers.
• Perform duties safely and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for full‑ and part‑time Grill Cook positions at Sacred Heart University, located at 5151 Park Ave, Fairfield, CT 06825.

Pay: $18.75 per hour. The position is open to candidates with shift availability; specific schedules will be discussed during interview. Online applications only.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Takes orders from customers and prepares items requiring short preparation; completes orders from steam tables and serves customers at multiple stations.
• Serves customers efficiently and friendly, following established service steps and ensuring food is the correct temperature, attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items.
• Uses ticket‑collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records for the area worked.
• Follows approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper temperature, serving quality, and portion control.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating and food‑safety rotation procedures.
• Sanitizes and maintains all assigned work areas, equipment and utensils to meet sanitation standards.
• Resolves customer concerns and reports relevant information to the supervisor.
• Attends in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
