Emerald AI is seeking a Software Engineer in Boston to join its Grid Services team, responsible for building systems that integrate data centers with the electric grid. You will develop software that forecasts demand and optimizes resource dispatch based on grid data.

The ideal candidate has over 7 years of experience in software engineering, especially in Python, and a strong background in cloud infrastructure and data pipelines. This role offers competitive pay, equity options, and the flexibility to work from various locations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Strong experience designing and operating distributed software with high reliability.
• Experience with large-scale operational datasets and modern data engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build software integrations with ISOs/RTOs and utilities.
• Develop optimization algorithms for resource dispatch based on grid signals.
• Build models for electricity demand and grid conditions.

Skills

Software engineering experience in Python

Designing reliable distributed systems

Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
